Karin’s Daily Update

Scientists at the Karolinska institute in Stockholm have shown that exercise generates a protein that can break down a toxic product that is directly related to depression. This is significant, since although we have suspected for years that exercise induces good mood, we have not known how it works mechanistically. If we could upregulate this protein, generated by extensive exercise, we could potentially treat and prevent depression in people. Obviously, the more natural way is to just go for a run every day!
